As a wine enthusiast, I wanted to experience something more intimate than booking a wine bus tour with 20-50 strangers so my wife and I took the AT Bus to San Martino and walked 5 minutes to Podere Ema. The wine tour and tasting was amazing and extremely informative. The cold cuts were the best we have had yet. Nothing falls short from the first winery you’ll find on the Chianti trail heading from Florence. If you are looking for a top notch experience…look no further!

I had the great fortune of spending time at Podere Ema for a tour of the facility and a tasting of several of their wines. I was especially grateful to be shown around by the founder, Enrico Calvelli, and to be served the delicious wines by Sara Calvelli. Everone in the world knows Chianti and Chianti Classico wines. I doubt many will know Foglia Tonda and wines made from other rare local grape varietals. I recommend this winery for anyone interested in learning more about local wines in a beautiful setting, with beautiful people.

We arrived without an appointment and Enrico welcomed us warmly. He shared his passion and let us taste several delicious wines. A lovely and unexpected highlight of our trip!

We had a great time at Podere Ema! This was our first wine tasting so it was a new experience for us. This trip provided us with a perfect balance of learning about the wine as well as enjoying the scenery. Great wine and great food! We had the light lunch and the pasta was amazing. Our guide, Aurora, spoke clear English and made sure we understood her at all times. Could not recommend this experience enough!
